College Auditions and Letters of Recommendation

One of the most thrilling aspects of Gotta Dance is the amount of dancers who choose to pursue higher education and professional performance careers. We know that reaching for these goals often requires a helping hand, and our educators and staff are happy to help our dancers reach the next level. Regardless of your career path, we are glad to help you achieve your goals.

Letter of Recommendations

If you need a letter of recommendation, please directly email the person you would like to have write the letter as well as copy the Gotta Dance office (office@gotta-dance.com.) A full list of educators’ emails can be found at www.gotta-dance.com < About Us < Dance Educators. We require four weeks advance notice. In your email, please include the following:

• Specify who you would like the letter to come from. Each member of the Gotta Dance Team would be more than willing to help you.
• Specify your intended college major/career goal.
• Compose and send us a list of all Gotta Dance activities you have participated in during your time with us. (Ex: classes you have taken, companies you have participated in, volunteer work, anything else you think should be included, etc.)

We also write letters as needed for summer programs and other external opportunities.

College Audition Solos/Videos

Let Gotta Dance help you prepare your college audition solo/video! A successful audition is a vital component of the college application process, and our educators would love to work with you on choreography and technique.

Preparing a strong solo with a Gotta Dance educator will require a 5-hour period of time. If you already have a solo prepared that needs refining, an educator can work with you for an hour or two on perfecting your piece. These private sessions will be considered private lessons and will be charged as such.

Remember that in addition to your time with a teacher, perfecting a solo takes several hours of practice on your own! The creation of audition pieces cannot be rushed, and you will want to be as confident as possible in your work; therefore, remember to plan months ahead.

You may also specify a teacher you prefer to work with. Submit the form online and we will reach out to you to set up your private instruction!
