Nutcracker Sweets Traveling Troupe 2023 will be performing at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal Park, NJ on Saturday, December 9th at 2 pm & 7 pm and Sunday, December 10th at 1 pm & 5pm. This season Nutcracker Sweets will be two separate casts. One will perform on December 9th and the other will perform on December 10th.

About Gotta Dance’s Nutcracker Dance Ensemble
The Nutcracker tells the tale of toys that come to life on Christmas Eve set to the iconic music composed by Peter Tchaikovsky. The recognizable story and music excite all of the participating dancers. The range of characters presented within the story allows for a wide age range to audition and perform. Some of the youngest dancers are in 2nd grade while the oldest are in their last years of high school. Most noteworthy, students love the opportunity to work and learn together in this thrilling environment outside of class.
The dancers’ cast will perform with Nutcracker Magical Christmas ballet company. It is most noteworthy that working with this company gives dancers a unique opportunity to perform advanced choreography. Through this exposure to seasoned professionals, dancers learn how to perform with joy and technical precision outside the traditional dance studio. For many Gotta Dance students, as a result, this is the first time they have had the opportunity to perform in a full-length ballet. This often inspires a lifelong passion for dance while building confidence and ballet technique. NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet has continuously recognized the skill and precision of Gotta Dance students and they are featured in the promotional DVD of the show. This video circulates around the country and is shown wherever the NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet performs.
About Gotta Dance’s Nutcracker Sweets Traveling Troupe
The Nutcracker Sweets Traveling Troupe is a community-based performance group that envelops young dancers in a world of culture, tradition, and holiday magic. As a team, we will create cherished moments and develop discipline. The dancers’ cast will perform with the Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater. This season we will be performing the first production of the Polar Express at the Axelrod Performing Arts Center in Deal Park, NJ on Saturday, December 9th at 2 p.m. & 7 p.m. and Sunday, December 10th at 1 p.m. & 5 p.m. This season Nutcracker Sweets will be two separate casts. One will perform on December 9th and the other will perform on December 10th.
Choreographed by Gabriel Chajnik, The Polar Express, based on the beloved children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, is an inspiring theatrical journey of uplifting holiday music and exciting original choreography featuring the dancers of the Axelrod Contemporary Ballet Theater and the apprentices and students of Gotta Dance and the Axelrod Academy. On Christmas Eve, a young boy embarks on a magical adventure to the North Pole on the Polar Express. Through dazzling dance scenes and heartwarming holiday songs, he learns about friendship, bravery, and the spirit of Christmas. With hot chocolate in hand, and snowy landscapes whizzing past the windows, he embarks on a fantastical journey to the North Pole meeting incredible characters that will make you dance in your seat!
