Education Initiative is held the week of April 17, 2017. Gotta Dance Destination Leaders perform for all Stars, Aqua Ballet, Tap & Jazz, Opal Ballet & Jazz classes, during the last 15 minutes of class starting April 17th to 22rd.
Gotta Dance’s Education Initiative program was founded on the belief that the best decisions come from a process of learning and understanding. Gotta Dance Destination leaders are selected from our student body to perform examples of the many varied dance forms offered at Gotta Dance. By participating in this experience, we celebrate the success of our dance leaders and their chosen paths while, a the same time, demonstrating to younger dancers different styles. Each Gotta Dance dancer has different goals, from the recreational dancer to those aiming to dance professionally. Education is the key to enable your dancer to successfully navigate his or her own dance journey.
Education Initiative aims to inspire our younger dancers to realize their own potential and to discover which dance styles spark a passion within them.
Education Initiative addresses the DIFFERENCES between dance genres, and explains how they can work well TOGETHER to reinforce the dancer's technique. Also addressed is our Gotta Dance philosophy behind our class requirements, such as multiple classes for pointe eligibility, and the requirements for certain classes including modern, contemporary, and Street Hip Hop. We help our dancers and parents envision beyond their September class choices and see how opportunities further down the road such as eligibility for Gotta Dance companies are all affected by their current class choices.
Our mission is to arm the dancer and parent with the information necessary to make the best decisions for their own individual goals at Gotta Dance. View these detailed guides below to learn more about dance styles open to dancers at different Gotta Dance levels. Contact your Dance Educator or the Office for specific questions regarding your individual dancer.
Dancers selected to be Gotta Dance Destination Leaders perform for key classes during Education Initiative week, and are the core of the program.
